Concentrating on the momentous events of Operation Overlord from June 1944, this book follows Monty's leadership of the Allied offensive up to Luneburg Heath in May of 1945. Montgomery is renowned for his military professionalism and this book, written with his son David, also looks at the more personal aspects of Monty's life - his style of command, influence of his character etc and so present a "human face" rather than just the Cromwellian military figure. ID90411
