2 Burry, J.Neil My Feral Australians. Windy Tales from Down-Under
Adelaide Published by Author 2010 0646536036 / 9780646536033 1st Edition Softcover
Octavo Size [approx 15.5 x 22.8cm]. Very Good condition. 122 pages Migrants from Britain to Australia in the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries came with various forms of historical consciousness or accumulated historical memories, imparted by the education they had received. They also came with religious traditions. The original colonists in 1788 occupied a land that they considered belonged to nobody. The Aborigines who occupied this land had a civilisation based on 60,000 years of occupation and survival by hunting and gathering. The author reflects on his experiences travelling and living in the vast expanses of Australia since arriving here on 1956. He now has a historical consciousness that he considers an Australian historical consciousness derived from his experiences of over 50 years in this country - to find out why, you need to read the book! ID273501

8 Mascitelli, Bruno and Armillei, Riccardo (Edited by) Australia's New Wave of Italian Migration: Paradise or Illusion?
North Melbourne Australian Scholarly Publishing 2017 1925588548 / 9781925588545 1st Edition Trade Paperback
MINT - a NEW copy. Illustraed with colour diagrams. 282 pages Much has been said about Italian migration to Australia of the 1950s and 1960s but little is known or understood of the new, young, skilled and educated Italian migrants of the current period. This book, which is a product of more than 24 months of investigation into this recent migratory phenomenon, addresses this deficiency by bringing a broader appreciation to many aspects of Italian temporary and permanent residency to Australia. While addressing the meaning and extent of the growing temporary and permanent migration to Australia from 2004 until late 2015, this book contains a wide range of expertise and opinions that help explain this mostly unexplored topic ID298259

Bethany, SA Published by Author & Bethany Church Council 1983 0959259503 / 9780959259506 1st Edition Hardback
Small Quarto Size [approx 17.5cm x 24cm]. Very Good condition in pictorial laminated boards. Illustrated with Black and White Photographs. Double column format. 88 pages Bethany, about 2 km from Tanunda in the Barossa Valley, was established by a group of Lutheran migrants who arrived with Pastor Gotthard Daniel Frietzsche in 1841. Most of these 270 immigrants had come from Posen and Silesia. Pastor Frietzsche settled with the migrants in his group, in Lobethal, and Bethany. The Lutheran church in this period, is referred to as the Kavel-Fritzsche Synod. A split occurred in 1846, within the South Australian Lutheran community, and two separate synods were established. The followers of Kavel founded the Langmeil-Light Pass Synod, and those of Fritzsche the Bethany-Lobethal Synod. These two groups joined to form the Lutheran Church of Australia in 1966. ID272822
