Octavo Size [approx 15.5 x 22.8cm]. Very Good condition in Good+ Dustjacket. Main cfault with DJ is the crinkling of the laminate - now protected in purpose-made plastic sleeve. Black & white illustrations. Minor tpae stains to endpapers. 186 pages In 1836 the barque Stirling Castle was wrecked on the Great Barrier Reef and the crew and captain's wife cast ashore. Captured by stone age aborigines of rude habits and cannibalistic tendencies Captain Fraser was speaered to death and other members of the crew disposed of in various ways. Mrs Fraser, a lady of genteel upringing, was stripped naked by her captors and made to perform exacting and humilitating tasks as slave to the tribe.
