Overall a very presentable set. 483, 456 pages This two-volume work was compiled by the author for the Victorian Government when he was Secretary of the Board for the Protection of Aborigines. First published in 1876, it provides a valuable historical record of the state of the aboriginal people in the second half of the nineteenth century. The text is drawn from important primary sources, including the reports and letters of magistrates, explorers and anthropologists who lived and worked among the aboriginal tribes.
