Spines a little frayed at very top, are a little discoloured and gilt to spine is a little faded. Hinges started but still solid. During a visit to Australia in 1891 he painted a portrait of Sir Henry Parkes then Premier of New South Wales. The painting, because of its striking resemblance, excited much admiration in Sydney.
